i have nothing to say about the crisis. i have nothing to say about 2010.

i have nothing to say about the hopeful year of prudence after a year of
shameful imprudence, about how we’ll have to make the necessary and
unlikely global compromises to fight on all fronts; And together: to fight
deflation while keeping an eye on inflation; to stabalize banks while
keeping lines of credit open; to engage in a budgetary re-launching while
finding a way to reduce public debts. i have nothing to say about these
things. I have nothing to say on what history teaches us about economic
instability, about competition, nationalism, protectionism, antagonism, and
blame on the outsider. I have nothing to add about european governments
demanding a restructuring of the world market and announcing the death of
the ultra-liberal anglo-saxon model. and i certainly have nothing to say
about the way that we have efficiently reinstated the exact same
ultra-liberal anglo-saxon model. I have nothing to say about the 10 percent
unemployment expected in europe next year. I have nothing to say because I
am indignatnt: an anger rooted in powerlessness. I have nothing to say but
to use this cheap, politician’s gimmick, of repeting something trite like “I have nothing to say.” I have nothing to say except
that this sucks; this is unfair; as though I’m just roaming around the island
after the tidal wave, looking at all the destruction that the wall of water
that just crashed down on us left behind. i look at the broken homes and
families and indefinitely indebted people, the virtual endentured
servants to the creditors, and have absolutely nothing to say. like a natural disaster, you
just watch it happen. There is no one person or entity or even
system that i can hold responsible. i can critisize capitalism to no end,
though I don’t know how to replace it. I can hold grudges against
suits and golden parachutes; but in the end I really just don’t have nothing really to say.
i dont even have a single intellegent thought about any of it.
