Latin Rock, Alternative or whatever, to devour in 2010
My sweet Lord, the New Year has brought an avalanche of new Latino music from some heavy hitters and Indieoma is just licking our chops over it. For example the legendary Spanish rock crooner, Enrique Bunbury, ex- Heroes el Silencio, delivers big on his new single “Frente a Frente.” Elegant and folksy, this single may be his most commercially accessible music yet. Los Angele act La Santa Cecilia, just toured Mexico and now is Austin bound for their first >SXSW. With wicked and soulful tunes such as “Jack,” and “Klemzer,” the band’s lead front woman Marisoul, is a powerhouse of vocal excellence. The muy dreamy Wait. Think. Fast., also from the city of angels, are busy muchachos now a days with a new record. Putting the finishing touches with producer Craig Schumacher (Neko Case, Calexico,) their the single “Look Alive” will be available on iTunes January 12th. Finally no Latin music feature on Indieoma would be complete without Austin’s Maneja Beto. Word has it they will be splitting up soon, but they have new music to share with us! Putting out singles every month on itunes, the indie boys have just a produced a new video for their song “Ofrendas.” Director Johnny Ramirez, of Indie Live Austin fame, really got the band’s tilted humor and colorful charm. Distfruta!
